people

why is it that when you are purchasing something you lose yourself in what you are buying. i work at a store that sells no necesities. we sell pools and hottubs. but when a costumer sees their hottub they become a different person. they are obsessed with it. they want all the best chemicals... which i have to get... they want things to make the water smell good... which i also have to get... they want all of the fun toys, and when we sell one, i have to move it... they are obsessed with having the very best and at any cost. that is how materialistic we have become. since the economy is poor right now people do not travel. they buy pools and hottubs and relax in the comforts of home. and when they want this comfort they come to me.

Mike, Nice blog so far. I like the title and the picture. And I love that picture of you at the charity scav hunt - how did you do that?
Your post on the hottub sales is interesting, but think about it - a hot tub is a huge luxury. Not everyone is able to buy one. So those who can buy one must have that much more money to spend. So you are working with people who are already influenced by lots of money and luxury goods.

You make a really good point.
It's weird how people can become so obsessed with materialistic goods. If people are not careful it can pretty much consume their lives. I think trying to avoid living a materialistic life can be hard in our society today.
